Pro-Palestinian activists enter Gaza through Rafah
Pro-Palestinian activists in more than 100 cars and trucks have crossed into the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip through Egypt's Rafah crossing with aid worth nearly $5m.
The multinational "Viva Palestina" ship arrived at Egypt's port city of al-Arish from Lattakia, Syria, earlier on Thursday.
About 300 activists then flew into al-Arish airport and converged with the ship's passengers before entering Gaza.
The activists had initially joined up in Syria from Turkey, Algeria, Morocco, Jordan, and more than two dozen other countries.
The convoy, which was organised by George Galloway, a British politician, originally departed from London on September 18 and arrived in Syria two weeks later.
The activists then waited for over two weeks in Lattakia for permission from the Egyptian authorities for the shipment, which includes medical supplies and school equipment, to be allowed to enter al-Arish port.
The aid does not include any building materials, which the Egyptian authorities did not allow, as part of the agreement permitting the activists to enter Gaza for three days.
Israel has kept Gaza under a blockade since 2007, saying it is a necessary step to stop arms reaching the Hamas group running the strip.
Several dozen survivors from the Israeli attack on May 31 on the Turkish aid ship the Mavi Marmara were among those in the "Viva Palestina" convoy.
'Summary executions'
Israeli commandos killed nine pro-Palestinian Turkish activists when they boarded the Mavi Marmara, the main vessel in a 'Freedom Flotilla' also attempting to deliver aid to Gaza.
Israel's leaders said their troops opened fire in self-defence after being set upon by activists.
However, a UN inquiry last month found that Israeli troops broke international law by boarding the flotilla and found that the killings of activists on-board were comparable to "summary executions".
After an international outcry over the Mavi Marmara raid, Israel relaxed its embargo but construction materials remain restricted.
Gazans have limited freedom of movement and Israel still enforces its naval blockade.

Why are the drums so silent
By : Dawud Wharnsby
All the sounds that surround us, All the noises that dumbfound us, The clatter and the clamor of the clutter in our lives. Cars and streets make silence shatter, Idle minds fill up with idle chatter, If we fill our void, that's all that matters.
Why are the drums so silent? Why can't we hear the rhythm? What's wrong with you and I? Why are the drums so silent? Why can't we hear the rhythm, From the heels of believers, Marching to the garden as they strive?
We digitize the revelation, Does our rehearsed recitation, Go any deeper than our throats? Our calls to prayer seem to rise up to the sky, Conferences and lectures, seminars for you and I, The words that blow away with anasheed that make us cry.
Yet... Why are the drums so silent? Why can't we hear the rhythm? What's wrong with you and I? Why are the drums so silent? Why can't we hear the rhythm, From the heels of believers marching to the garden as they strive?
And if we could just be brave enough to be each other mirror, We may finally recognize, The face of conscience that we fear. And if we can take the time, To mute the noise we've built around ourselves, The rhythm of the heartbeat, And the purpose may be clear.
If we beat the drum, (A whisper of peace), Beat the drum, (Moving through the land) Beat the drum.
If we beat the drums of hope and faith, We will all fall into rhythm. I have faith in you and I. If we beat the drums of hope and faith, Then we will feel the rhythm, From our footsteps and our striving, Marching to the garden as we try.
If we beat the drums of hope and faith, We will all fall into rhythm. I have faith in you and I. If we beat the drums of hope and faith, Then we will feel the rhythm, From our footsteps and our striving, Marching to the garden as we die.
Please listen to it in youtube and let me know what you think.

Self Reminder #1 : Orang cerdik beli insurans
Kenapa perlu istighfar?
1) Kita perlukan perlindungan dari Allah
2) Kita perlukan doa daripada makhluk yg tak pernah berdosa(malaikat)
3) Kita banyak keperluan hajat
Kelebihan org selalu beristighfar:

Paradise is expensive
"Jannah (paradise) is expensive, ukthee (sister).
The Prophet SAW says "Is not the prize of Allah expensive?"
It is, by Allah.
It requires a lifetime effort.
It requires hardwork, ukhtee.
It requires getting up in the morning, and leaving your sleep and your comfort and your work.
It requires struggle with your life and your soul.
It requires you taking your money and not spend it in your own comfort, but spend it in the cause of Allah.
It requires you prefer the love of Allah and that of religion and that of Islam over and above your own love.
"Is not the prize of Allah expensive?"
Wallahi (by Allah), it is expensive ukhtee.
You cannot attain Jannah by pleasure of the heart.
It can only be attain by hardwork, ukthee." – Tawfique Chowdhury

Ramadhan Insights #1
It is 8th Ramadhan today. How was your Ramadhan going so far?
Mine was not too bad. I mean, there's alot of avenues to improve further.
1) I was down with a slight fever (typical me) on 2 and 3 Ramadhan, but it's not severe so, Alhamdulillah.
2) I managed to berbuka puasa with husband once, when he came back for a short trip last weekend. I hope he's doing good over there. Since hubby's temporary housemate is away since yesterday, I started my routine of calling him every morning for sahur. The fact that the sunrise time e.g. imsak and prayers time is similar between Malaysia and Vietnam (although the time zone is slightly different, they are late by an hour) makes thing a lot easier. My only wish is for the roaming rate to be cheaper!
3) We had an unplanned family gathering last Saturday at Mama's house because my grandma (hubby's) was admitted to the hospital due to high fever. To date she was still warded, so let's pray for her speedy recovery.
4) I am struggling to get on track for my target of one juzuk one day. I was a bit off track when I was ill over the weekend. Hopefully I can catch up on time.
5) Solat terawih is such an interesting experience, and am looking forward for it as always. I'm glad to see my office surau is now equipped with chairs for the elderly who's unable to stand to perform solat. However, it is quite hard to find the facilities at other mosques/surau and most of the elderly need to bring chairs by themselves. Other than that, well I hope people are more aware to ensure closeness of saf and for those who bring children, kindly ask them to stand at the end of the saf, and not in the middle.

Baris Metasequire

We are not saints
I am not the type who would be deep in hatred and blame everyone else except myself, when I face this kind of situation.
Nor the type who quickly find other people and offer them a defensive speech, so that I'll be having my own army as well.
I am the type that just swallowed, accept it as my weakness and fate, and move on to improve further.
Although sessions of tears and consolation words from the closer ones really helped a lot.
Revenge, however is totally out of question.
But, it is always tempting to ask these people who love to talk behind our back;
What is wrong with individual discussion to clear the murky water?
Why don't you reflect your actions, your words, your treatment to others, too?
You are not saints either, my dear.
xxx
Why can't everyone embrace the concept of forgive and forget?
Well, the answer is obvious.

Kalau naik teksi takutnya jam.
Pelancong(Ayah) : Jam tu apa?
Pelancong(anak2) : Jam tu macet pak..
Saya : (haah macam penah dengar abah cakap macet tu maksudnye traffic jam, belajar masa di Jakarta) haa iya, macet..Lagi bagusnya naik train (perasan tak I dah ikut slang Indon.Mudah terpengaruh betul)
Pelancong(Ayah) : Ohh..tapi kalau train pun ramai orang sekarang ni
Saya : Iya ramai orang (cam tak tau je time orang balik kerja sekarang ni)..Tapi kalau masih mahu naik teksi boleh tunggu di sana ya (tunjuk lagi arah depan KLCC)
Pelancong(Ayah) : Ok..lagi satu Pasar Seni tutup pukul berapa ya?
Saya : Err emm, tak tahu laa..rasanya dalam pukul 8 tapi tak pasti la..hehe
Pelancong(Ayah dan Emak) : Ok terima kasih ya..
Saya : Ehehe sama2...
2.Siapa tahu Central Market tutup pukul berapa??
3.Baru perasan, kalau pergi negara orang tu sampai pasar ikan ngan pasar malam diorang pun kita pergi..tapi negara sendiri ada pasar seni tak pernah pergi..adess
