Ramadhan Insights #3 (last kot)

Well, believe it or not, it is already 29 Ramadhan.

 

1. I am sad to leave this holy month. The reason being is simple: again, I still think I did not optimize my Ramadhan to the fullest. Yes, I had my iktikaf,qiam,tahajjud,tasbih and quran recitation moments, but I believe a lot of people did way better than me, and I envy you guys! I really really hope I am still around to embrace another Ramadhan to get yet another chance of seizing barakah and most of all, having all my sin being forgiven in a blink of an eye, insya Allah. Although it is plain hard, but everyone have the same opportunity to seek for the most precious, most awaited night.

 

2. As most of you are aware, Encik A came home safe and sound, alhamdulillah two weeks ago. And he literally dragged me to various majlis berbuka puasa by his contractors at various hotels around KL. And I guess among the best place for berbuka puasa buffet is at KLCC Convention Centre. The food was good with variety of dishes; most of it fresh from woks e.g. mee goreng mamak, keropok lekor, ikan bakar etc etc. Decorations was marvelous with Raya theme. but the best part is they converted the whole hall beside the buffet hall into a giant surau, complete with portable wudhu' places. Not to mention clean, pretty telekungs are also provided! Yes, they were clean I assure you.Highly recommended!

 

3. I managed to bake cookies for the first time over the weekend! While Encik A was away for a bubur lambuk event nearby, I berperang di dapur untuk menyediakan chocolate chip cookies. Haha bak kata hazel ` Alah choc chip je, bukan buat dodol pun.Sure jadik punye!' Haha boy she was right and wrong at the same time. With new oven and practically zero experience in baking cookies, I burned the first batch of cookies.Ok mana I tau takyah preheat oven dulu! Sib baik the next batches turned out well, but I faced another problem. Cookies tak masak mengikut temperature and time yang disyorkan dalam resepi. Maka I keep baking them again and again, sampai dah flat tak larat. I started the project around 2.30pm but sebab oven comel bleh masuk sebatch je skali, sampai kul 5 tak habis lagi.Dah aku nak masak utk berbuka la pulak kan.. jadinya straight sampai bukak pose I masak, penat cam hape. Camnelah gayanya orang yang buat bisnes kuih raya tu kan.. tabik laa. Next cookies bila? Haha tengok la dulu, KPI I satu jenis je kali ini.Yang lain wait and see :p

 

4. Finally our internet crisis is almost over sebab ada orang dah resah gelisah dah takleh monitor well (read : perigi) dia over the weekend :P OK almost ye, kerana modem I hanya sampai esok sebelum pukul 12. Memang spoil planning balik raya betul.. Can you believe that TM takde coverage kat rumah I? Padahal blok2 sebelah ada.So sorry la streamyx, we resorted to P1 instead (as if we have other choice la). Let us experience it for a while and we'll let you know our review ok!

 

5. One fine morning ketika sedang bermalas-malasan di pagi cuti, we had the balik raya discussion for the second time kerana our parents twitched their plans a little bit. It is quite complicated as we need to go back to.... six kampungs?? Yes six. (1)The parents' house, (2)the inlaw's house, (3)mom's kampung, (4) abah's kampung, (5) MIL's kampung, (6) PIL's kampung! Luckily these places are scattered around two states only.. buatnya kalau ada kampung kat sabah ke, kelantan ke? hahah mungkin I terpaksa cuti raya 2 minggu.

 

6. My abah mertua beraya di perbatasan (wah term askar betul) tahun ni.. kesian mama. Tapi dia dah biasa. So I atau you jangan la merengek bermanja2 at least our husbands beraya skali ngan kita tahun ni.

 

7. Last but not least, I wish to seek forgiveness on any wrongdoings that I've done to you, yes each and every one of you.Maaf dan ampun atas segalanya..sayan hanya manusia biasa yang banyak kesilapan. To my loveliest Encik A, ampunkan dosa-dosa I yer..sorry tak sempat balas kad raya Abang. Hahah ok2 iklan2. Mudah-mudahan Allah menerima amalan kita sepanjang Ramadhan dan seterusnya buat bekalan di Akhirat kelak :) Jemput lah beraya di rumah ye kalau nak rasa choc chip cookies I.. haha (sila jangan high expectation, biase saje)

 

Ramadhan Insights #2

Assalamualaikum and salam Ramadhan to all,

 

Puasa tak? :p It is 13th Ramadhan today, how time flies so fast!! Here's my second Ramadhan insights for your eyes only ;)

 

1) I spent my weekend attending a camp(well, not literally), and it was a very fruitful one.At least it helps me to optimize one and a half day doing what is required for a Muslim especially in this fasting month, where all good act and ibadah gained double pahala from Allah :) Among the good things I earned is, to utilize `tasbih' , and appreciate it more than a mere decoration or as souvenirs received from Makkah.Thanks abang, your absence is truly a blessing in disguise, and best of all you'll get some reward for it too :)

 

2) Wan (nenek) is still admitted in the hospital, it seems that her fever is not getting better. I went to Seremban yesterday but haven't had the chance to visit her :( Am hoping she will recover gracefully, insya Allah. Can imagine how more worried Mama is... a few nights were already spent at the hospital, and hopefully not more to come.

 

3) Following Wan's condition, hubby tried to persuade his superior to allow him to come home earlier; perhaps by Wednesday. I hope he succeed! (Sambil rasa nak jerit tapi kena behave sebab bulan posa. Dan ramai orang di ofis ni yer). However I'm not so optimistic and still avoiding high hope as always. Because, falling hard out of frustration is the worst feeling so far..-_- And my treshold for him is to be back atleast, before Hari Raya. I can't imagine anything beyond that at the moment, yet.(Huhu manjeee la kau shah padahal my officemate masa dia first year kawin dah takpat beraya ngan husband sebab kena duty offshore)

 

4) Remember my kuih raya project? Haha yesterday telah selongkar stor rumah dan berjumpa oven Ma lantas terus mencubanya (bukan cuba buat kuih,cuba warm up je). Nampaknya masih berfungsi dengan baik walaupun telah bertahun2 bertapa dalam stor(Tapi insulator rubber kelihatan telah ternoda sikit, takpe ke? Wires not exposed, though). However, I am quite sceptical and worried to bring it back to my house, due to various reasons. So maybe, if ever my project come true, it shall be baked fresh from my mum's house instead of mine :) And option kedua adalah mungkin I bleh kecek my lovely hubby for a new electric tabletop oven?? :p

 

5) Have I mentioned that my stove rosak at the high time when I have the mood to cook? And saya adalah takut nak godek stove tersebut sendirian kerana takut kang meletup kang takde sapa nak panggilkan I ambulans or call my parents. Jadi expert from negara Viet telah menyarankan I takyah memandai2 and makan luar je sampai la dia balik. Masalahnya, I tak berapa gemar bazar Ramadhan. But I think I'll survive, for the moment.

 

6) Me and my parents had a (another) conversation pasal zakat yesterday. Yelah bulan puasa ni memang elok bayar zakat, pahala berlipat ganda. Dan berita baik kepada penduduk Negeri Sembilan, pusat zakat negeri akan dibuka pada sabtu dan ahad di bulan Ramadhan! Cool kan. As some of you already know, I prefer to pay my zakat manually/yearly rather than to have the monthly auto-debit by pusat zakat negeri just for a simple reason; I just want to master the theoretical and calculation part of it. Memang senang je konsep kira zakat ni sebenarnya tapi i still think i belum pakar lagi dalam hal ni, masih banyak yang perlu dirujuk. Among the gist of our conversation is that only zakat paid using official receipt by Pusat Zakat Negeri can be 100% waived in Income Tax, while zakat paid for the other organisation (although is recognized by jabatan agama negeri) can only be waived 24% of it-consider as `sumbangan/derma', bukannya `zakat'. And it is a recommended practice to calculate wisely and get your income tax to be waived fully by zakat. Dan.. some Ustaz suggested the method of varietykan penerima zakat dan bukan sepenuhnya kepada pusat zakat. Kalau kita kenal mana2 asnaf lebih baik kita salurkannya sendiri. Tapi kalau kita sendiri ragu2 dan tak yakin so serahlah sahaja kepada yang telah menerima amanah, iaitu Pusat Zakat ye..dah memang tugas diorang nak bahagikan pun.

 

7) Among the things that I loved working for the company, it is full with aktiviti kerohanian, kadang2 seaktif NGO2 agama yang full time. Dalam bulan puasa ni je, setakat ni setiap minggu dianjurkan solat sunat tasbih yang bagi saya payah dan susah sangat kalo nak initiate sendiri. Ceramah agama pun hari2. I still remember working with different companies before, nak dapat ceramah agama sebulan sekali pun payah.

 

8) If we are to divide this holy month into thre phases, we've left the first phase that often been referred to fasa `rahmat' (blessing). Now we are in the midst of fasa `keampunan' (forgiveness), hence lets us optimize this phase to seek forgiveness as much as we can from Allah ya :) And prepare ourself for the most awaited third phase of Ramadhan, insya Allah!

Ramadhan Insights #1

It is 8^th Ramadhan today. How was your Ramadhan going so far?

Mine was not too bad. I mean, there's alot of avenues to improve further. 

1) I was down with a slight fever (typical me) on 2 and 3 Ramadhan, but it's not severe so, Alhamdulillah.

2) I managed to berbuka puasa with husband once, when he came back for a short trip last weekend. I hope he's doing good over there. Since hubby's temporary housemate is away since yesterday, I started my routine of calling him every morning for sahur. The fact that the sunrise time e.g. imsak and prayers time is similar between Malaysia and Vietnam (although the time zone is slightly different, they are late by an hour) makes thing a lot easier. My only wish is for the roaming rate to be cheaper!

3) We had an unplanned family gathering last Saturday at Mama's house because my grandma (hubby's) was admitted to the hospital due to high fever. To date she was still warded, so let's pray for her speedy recovery.

4) I am struggling to get on track for my target of one juzuk one day. I was a bit off track when I was ill over the weekend. Hopefully I can catch up on time.

5) Solat terawih is such an interesting experience, and am looking forward for it as always. I'm glad to see my office surau is now equipped with chairs for the elderly who's unable to stand to perform solat. However, it is quite hard to find the facilities at other mosques/surau and most of the elderly need to bring chairs by themselves. Other than that, well I hope people are more aware to ensure closeness of saf and for those who bring children, kindly ask them to stand at the end of the saf, and not in the middle.

6) Are you fond of Bazar Ramadhan? Well, I am not. I felt that Bazar Ramadhan do not offer the healthiest food variation after all. OK, I'm not criticizing over here, mana ada bazaar Ramadhan yang totally jual makanan sihat. As I always say, makanan sihat selalunya kurang sedap :p My point is, please watch what you buy at bazaar ya..please avoid fried food and air cordial yang dijual di situ ye. And opt for no ice, please J We need to ensure our stomach is not overloaded in preparation for terawih and the other ibadah planned upfront.  

OK that's all.. have a blissful Ramadhan everyone! Sad to note that only 22 days left for Ramadhan to end..

Selamat menyambut Ramadhan

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah hiwabarakatuh!

 

Ramadhan hampir menjelma.. malam ni dah mula terawih~!

 

(kalini buat post gaya-gaya CheDet, ada bullet points. Perasan tak makin banyak bloggers dah buat style ni sejak CheDet mulakan?)

 

1. Banyak masjid dan surau di sekitar rumah, taktahu nak pilih mana untuk terawih. Pilihan utama adalah Masjid UTM baru di Jalan Semarak. Mungkin juga boleh cuba melompat-lompat masjid untuk mencari kelainan. Teringat pada waktu ini, tahun lepas, saya di Bintulu. Sering juga melompat masjid di sana untuk merasai pengalaman berlainan di rumah Allah.

 

2. Ramadhan kali ni tak disambut dengan Encik A ye tuan puan, sambut sorang je. Ataupun kalau bosan berbuka sorang balik rumah mak kejap kat Seremban. At least boleh drive kan Abah balik rumah sebab bas depan ofis dia sampai kul 5. Kitorang boleh balik kul 4 :)

 

3. Encik A akan mula berpuasa di sana, alah takpe situ banyak makanan halal kan?Ada makanan melayu pulak tu. Sabar je lah sebelum ni dok cerita hari2 makan nasik, siap ada roti canai lagi. Masjid pun dekat dengan tempat makan..ok lah tu. Lagi ok dari tahun lepas hampir seluruh Ramadhan dihabiskan kat Sudan kan? :p Alhamdulillah, harapnya hujung minggu dapatla pulang ke tanah air berbuka posa..sekali pun jadilah. I tunggu tau.

 

4. Azam bulan Ramadhan nie.. erm cam biasa nak khatam Quran.. dua tiga tahun kebelakangan nie asyik kantoi je beberapa juzuk takpat nak khatam sebelum akhir Ramadhan. Tahun ni kita cuba ye!! Chayok! Juga berazam taknak skip terawih berjemaah tanpa uzur! Dan mencari laila itu di sepuluh malam terakhir, insya Allah..

 

5. Biasalah dah kawin ni mulalah naluri keisterian (nak kate keibuan, belum ada little extension lagi :p), konon2 nak buat kuih raya. Diulang KONON je.. tapi takmo dijadikan azam sebab takut tak buat. Encik A kata buatlah kuih raya, saje nak bagi meriah sikit. Oh itu ke sebab orang buat kuih raya? haha FYI dah dekat 10 years my Mum tak buat kuih raya, so I memang bukan jaguh la dalam hal ini. Lagipun I ade alasan konkrit kenapa tak nak buat kuih raya mahupun kek. Alasannya, I fobia tengok penggunaan gula, butter dan telur yg banyak sangat dalam pembuatan kuih raya nih.. huhu self-proclaimed health freak lah katakan :p Nak tau jadi ke tak I buat, tengok la sebulan lagi ye.

 

6. Eh tetiba dah masuk cerita raya pulak kat point 5 tu..padahal bulan posa belum start lagi. Typical betul..insaflah ye diriku ini. Ok raya citer masa dekat raya laa. Setakat preparation, takde apa2 pun kena prepare kot. Walaupun tak sempat tempah baju raya, I ada plan B (B-beli).Dan mungkin juga Plan R (R-recycle?). Dan juga belum discuss camne dan dimana nk beraya tahun nie. Later laa, itupun kalau panjang umur kan nak diskas benda2 masa hadapan ni. Baik fokus on ibadah dan cara nak optimizekan bulan Allah ni kan!

 

7. Oklah, petang ni jangan lupa beli benda2 untuk sahur..biasanya susu,cereals,roti dan seangkatan dengannya. Barang dapur lain nanti la beli bila singgah pasar Keramat. Ni lah penyakit I kalau bulan posa, tetiba mood rajin masak sebab I lagi suka masak dari beli kat bazar Ramadhan yang berlambak2 kat area sini ( I cuti masak 2 bulan sebab Encik A takde. Ok masak maggi goreng and french toast tidaklah dikira ye). Singgah bazar pon beli 1-2 jenis kuih je, pastu balik. Hahah tapi sekali lagi cam Encik A cakap, gi bazar bukan nak beli apabenda sangat pun, saja nak rasa meriah je! Meriah betul anda ni Encik A.

 

Oklah akhir kata, selamat berpuasa kepada semua.. maaf atas salah silap sama ada sengaja atau tak. Kalau ada yang takpuas hati tu bleh contact I personally, I janji akan menyelesaikan segala2nya secara profesional. Ahah statement macam ada makna je, no comment :p Jom jom kita optimumkan bulan Ramadhan ni!

 

Baris Metasequire

Tiba-tiba saya teringat tempat itu.

Terbayang barisan lurus pokok metasequire yang sangat menawan. Pada mulanya disangkakan pokok itu tumbuh secara natural, namun sebenarnya ia berasal dari negara lain dan ditanam di situ untuk mencantikkan landskapnya yang sedia indah. Juga pada mulanya pokok ini ditanam kerana fizikalnya yang cantik, lurus tinggi dan dikatakan antara pokok yang paling cepat kadar penumbuhannya (tinggi) di dunia. Setelah lama baru kerajaan Korea mengeksploitasi kegunaan pokok ini di bandaraya Seoul, di mana daun pokok ini yang luruh boleh mengurangkan kelicinan jalan semasa musim salji. Walaupun ketika itu musim panas baru bermula, masih terasa angin nyaman menghembus dan sesetengah pokok turut mengeluarkan daun warna-warna musim luruh – merah, jingga dan coklat. Di hujung deretan metasequire ini kelihatan tasik indah berbalam-balam disinar cahaya matahari. Nyaman dan menenangkan.

Seperti mana saya ingin kembali ke Amsterdam pada musim bunga untuk menikmati tulip kegemaran, saya juga ingin kembali ke Nami Island, Korea Selatan untuk menikmati  musim salji.

Itupun insya Allah, jika Allah memberi laluan dan permudahkan urusan.

Mencari Hang Jebat

My adventure to search for Hang Jebat resulted to a mixed reactions out of curiousity, anxiety, determination and tiredness-all at the same time. At least I successfully found him after the second attempt.

I search in the net, and was sure on the direction to meet him. I know I am quite good at navigation (ehem, you should to realise your own strongest point, I mean who else should?) and am convinced that I will find the way on my own. But during the final research somebody told me the nearest meetpoint was Plaza Rakyat and he will be just few hundred metres away. What it did not say is, no decent road is available to reach him and a huge hill is the one that parted them away!

So on a bright, sunny day during lunch hour, while the Muslim men are getting prepared for prayer, I started my quest. As usual I searched for signboards but nothing lead to Hang Jebat. I asked a lady bus conductor and she generously (and confidently) described the direction.I followed it obediently just to found that I was directed to a wrong place with almost similar name! I looked around and found Tun Perak, but he's not the one that I wanted to see. My eyes shine when I meet Hang Lekiu, as my common sense told me that Hang Jebat's clan will obviously be a few yards away from his friend, no? But unfortunately, again he's no where to be found. Where are you, Jebat??

After a few dialogues with the locals and three times being directed to the wrong way, I realised I've been wandering around for more than an hour already. With an empty stomach,sweat-drenched clothes and realising the lunch hour is about to end, I know I need to call it a day. I hate mission unaccomplished, though. Hence I went out to again, later that day. This time, I am more equipped and did detail research, hoping I won't come back empty handed again.

So eventually, my initial hunch-before any research was made- was right, birds of same feathers flock together. I found Hang Jebat together with his best friend, Hang Tuah.Side by side, enjoying each other's company. All this despite their infamous fight that happened hundred of years ago in Melaka. And most importantly, my mission accomplished, Alhamdulillah.

It is funny to think that this whole effort is just to collect a small token that is worth not more than RM50...I will always remember this experience.

p/s: If you are puzzled with the whole post, I actually referred the pahlawan Melaka to the road names in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, around Pudu area. Note that all traveling was made via public transport and by foot. Well, Kuala Lumpur is such an interesting place to explore, indeed :)

Of IB, married-single and 3S

Finally, I managed to set my foot at the sensational Istana Budaya last Wednesday with couple of friends.The facilities is satisfying and the interior is fabulous, I guess it matched the name perfectly.

 

The play was entertaining and hilarious, thanks to Nabil. I think most of his lawak menjadi dalam cerita ni.. so boleh la you all pergi tengok tanpa skeptical thoughts at the back of our head. Yang lain2 is commendably good as usual, they were good actor/actress by the way. At one time I wish Awie would sing his songs with Wings rather than the songs designed for the play...

 

Again, Hazel was the one initiated this activity. Perhaps due to our disappointment over the previous experience, haha. Just look at the difference of ticket price and venues, dear :p However I still have a dream to watch FT's buah tangan in IB. Masih berharap agar ia menjadi kenyataan :) Pray with me, people.I am always a fan of plays that touches heart and perhaps can change people's lives.

 

So yes, as you can see, despite the ordinary commitments that fills my weekdays, I do keep myself busy. I mean, I really plan for my days to be filled with something beneficial. Among others, I managed to increase the frequency of running at the park- from a few times per month to once per week (yet to achieve 3 times per week! bajet busy woman konon :p) I also sempat ke Spa for a great bubble bath experience with affordable price. I even plan to participate in a running event but got cancelled due to the absence of the other half :( (next time ye, dear!)~ And some volunteerily projects, small fund raising for the community, and other activities as usual, tambahan pula Ramadhan is just around the corner.

 

Hence, being a currently married-single wife is not so devastating after all.Oh ok tipu. Mestila sedihkan at first.Padahal bukan first time kena tinggal pun..tapi masih sedih kerana kali ni kena tinggal lebih lama. Ok whatever :p . Kesimpulannya I nak cakap, memang ramai weekend, monthly and even yearly wives out there kan...Just to share on the tips I get from a magazine - 3S - Syukur, Sibuk, Sihat. So jangan sedih2, keep yourself busy with alot of things. Cuma if you've kids then you don't really have that diversities in doing various activities la..:) But still, enjoy yourself and keep closer to the AlMighty, insya Allah you'll be fine:)

 

 The irony part is, the 3S concept is originally to cope up with `hidup bermadu'. But it is still applicable sebab konsepnya masih sama kan, married-single life, no? Ok no further comment, I rest my case :p

As people always said, `Looks can be deceiving'.

We are not saints

I am not the type who would be deep in hatred and blame everyone else except myself, when I face this kind of situation.

Nor the type who quickly find other people and offer them a defensive speech, so that I'll be having my own army as well.

I am the type that just swallowed, accept it as my weakness and fate, and move on to improve further.

Although sessions of tears and consolation words from the closer ones really helped a lot.

Revenge, however is totally out of question.

But, it is always tempting to ask these people who love to talk behind our back;

What is wrong with individual discussion to clear the murky water?

Why don't you reflect your actions, your words, your treatment to others, too?

You are not saints either, my dear.

 Why can't everyone embrace the concept of forgive and forget?

Well, the answer is obvious.

We are not saints.

Broadband daily rates

Finally I got rid of the monthly broadband subscription and got the daily ones.

But I am adjusting to the slow speed..they never told me that RM6/day gets the slowest available speed rate. But atleast it is stable, taklah DC manjang.

So eventually I can save more than 70% of my previous monthly cost, provided I stick with the planned daily usage of 5 days/month.

Yes, cost reduction, I like.

Hah 5 days je?Ape susah, I can still online in the office or at my parents' home yang pakai wireless broadband aduih jeles. Or wifi at major outlets around KL.Cybercafe is soo yesterday (gelakkan seseorang tu yg terfikir nak gi CC apabila broadband modem i tertinggal di rumah parents suatu masa dulu)

Any other better deal from other telecomm provider that you know, please share ya. I'm interested in mobile usage only, wimax pimax takmain.

ok bai

Today, another of my friend left the company.
Yep, not the department or the subsidiary,but the company.

But lucky her, she wasn't tied to the bond.

Or atleast I hope she was not.

Nevertheless, other friend just left with or without the bond.

If there were, they just find ways to repay.

While the others can't seem to imagine life without working for the company.

And few other contemplating but still could not make up their mind until now.

My point is, everyone choose their own path with our reasons and own priorities. And obviously, one's priority is different than the other.

While consciously or not, the path was determined by Allah ever since before we were born.

So be grateful, and stop judging.

Dialog dengan pelancong Indonesia

Tempat dan masa :Semasa berjalan pulang ke tempat letak kereta lepas habis kerja,5.56 petang.
Situasi : Sekeluarga pelancong dari Indonesia berjalan perlahan dan mendekati saya.

Pelancong(Ayah) : Maaf Mbak, bisa tanya enggak?
Saya : Boleh, boleh..
Pelancong(Ayah) : Jalan ke sini boleh ke tempat menunggu teksi enggak?
Saya : Oh..kalau nak ke taxi stand (tetiba I cakap English) di depan sana ada..(sambil tunjuk arah KLCC).Nak pergi mana ya?
Pelancong(Ayah) : Kami nak ke Pasar Seni..jauh enggak?
Saya : Ooh pasar seni..senangnya naik LRT(muka mereka blank)..eh train..boleh terus ke Pasar Seni.Kalau naik teksi takutnya jam.
Pelancong(Ayah) : Jam tu apa?
Pelancong(anak2) : Jam tu macet pak..
Saya : (haah macam penah dengar abah cakap macet tu maksudnye traffic jam,belajar masa di Jakarta) haa iya, macet..Lagi bagusnya naik train (perasan tak I dah ikut slang Indon.Mudah terpengaruh betul)
Pelancong(Ayah) : Ohh..tapi kalau train pun ramai orang sekarang ni
Saya : Iya ramai orang (cam tak tau je time orang balik kerja sekarang ni)..Tapi kalau masih mahu naik teksi boleh tunggu di sana ya (tunjuk lagi arah depan KLCC)

1.Seingat saya, saya tak pernah pergi/masuk ke bangunan Central Market.Selalunya turun di stesen itu utk pergi meeting di Dayabumi sahaja

3.Baru perasan,kalau pergi negara orang tu sampai pasar ikan ngan pasar malam diorang pun kita pergi..tapi negara sendiri ada pasar seni tak pernah pergi..adess

Menonton Ghadir Khum

Alhamdulillah, berjaya menonton Kopitiam Ghadir.

Sebelum:

Telah menjumpai jalan ke Muzium Telekom tetapi terlepas simpang untuk meletak kereta di Jalan Gereja.Sebab banyak jalan sehala, telah tersesat sampai Jalan Pudu dan telah marah-marah sebab jem rupanya hanya roadblock malam Sabtu. Terima kasih kepada BB 3G Hazel, Google maps yang bertindak bagai GPS telah menyelamatkan kami.Berjaya tiba di Muzium telekom pada jam 8.40pm, cuak kerana takut tidak dibenarkan masuk padahal persembahan belum dimulakan. Sempat meng`usya' telefon lama dan radio pertama digunakan di Malaya.

Semasa:

Ini pengalaman pertama kami menonton teater, maka sudah pasti set setaraf IB lengkap pentas bergerak atau MPO yang eksklusif menjadi bayangan. Namun sangkaan meleset kerana pentas hanyalah ruang `corner' muzium dengan props sederhana, dengan kerusi plastik 3 baris untuk penonton. Humble set, I suppose. Oh, sudahkah saya mengatakan `tiket' masuk adalah berupa booklet tentang teater ini?Lengkap dengan hadis yang dirujuk dan dialog para pelakon, serta lirik lagu yang mengiringi persembahan.Interesting indeed.

Secara keseluruhannya, persembahan menarik, sederhana namun menghiburkan. Dialog kelakar yang penuh makna, dengan empat karakter berwarna-warni dan hadis dirujuk lengkap dengan kitab dan matannya menyebabkan teater ini penuh makna dan tidak kosong. Menariknya, semua pelakon memakai jersi pada malam itu,mungkin seiring dengan demam Piala Dunia semasa.Teater ini adalah teater muzikal, maka dialog diserikan dengan lagu memuji Rasulullah dan keluarganya kedengaran segar,mungkin kerana lagu-lagu ini semuanya dicipta sendiri dan belum dikomersialkan.Cuma, saya agak berharap irama yang dibawakan lebih kontemporari untuk menarik minat anak-anak muda, kerana kebanyakannya bersifat irama malaysia dan tipikal nasyid.Irama joget pun ada..meriah kan?

Selepas:

Jadi pementasan sejam suku tidak begitu lama dirasakan.Tahniah kepada FT dan team Revolusi Pembudayaan Selawat (RPS) atas inisiatif mendekati masyarakat melalui wadah seni sebegini.Setidaknya, penonton seperti saya akan semakin rajin membuka lembaran sejarah tentang Ghadir Khum yang merupakan antara peristiwa penting dalam sirah Nabi.Untuk tuan puan yang kurang mengetahui, di Ghadir Khum inilah Rasulullah berhenti rehat selepas mengerjakan haji terakhir dalam perjalanan pulang ke Madinah dan telah diriwayatkan satu hadis semasa di tempat kejadian.

Kesimpulan:

Harapan saya agar karya-karya penuh mesej Islamik sebegini akan diangkat oleh penganjur berbajet tinggi dan dipentaskan di tempat berprestij seperti IB,MPO dan seangkatan dengannya.Rasanya lebih berbaloi menaja inisiatif begini daripada menaja team bola sepak yang tidak konsisten persembahannya (hanya contoh, tiada kaitan yang hidup atau mati).

Sports betting

It is funny when some Muslims criticising another Muslim's view to ban sports betting.

All this makes some of the non-Muslims confuse and start to play along.

A Muslim minister is the one who made the first move to legalise sports betting.

One minister made an open remarks (and today a lengthy expelaination in a free newspaper) that makes most of us say, `wah beraninya.tak takut kena panah petir ke?'

Another minister is overly confident that he can regulate the sports betting issue to make sure the Muslims do not take part in it.

Bottomline is, getting the millions worth of bet by legalising the betting is the most important thing to do right now for the sake of developing our country. Or is it?

 

I am just afraid that the Almighty will punish us all for the wrongdoings of some.

 

Summer trip

I just came back after a week off of hectic working life. Seminggu cuti, dah apply sejak 3 bulan lalu tau. Suddenly when the time comes, it coincided with a lot of things but yes, something needs to be chosen right. However I still managed to keep track on the fate of Mavi Marmara and Rachel Corrie, and just in time to get the gist of Muktamar PAS and issues in between. Seems like I didn't actually lost contact of the general news, eventhough my non 3G Blackberry avoids communication for approximately 4 days.

Let me share some facts and do try your luck by guessing the destination right.

1.This is the country with 35,000 Muslims out of 12 million people in the capital city, hence is considered minority. Halal food is so hard to find, let alone Malay food. Most of the people are not aware of Muslims and our obligations.They tried asking questions about Muslims to their pop stars and they don't have a clue about us. Surau is also hard to find, hence once we prayed on a small bench in a park, another time was in an empty theatrette.

2.Similar to my experience in Venice, I went to a small island featured in a popular soap opera where the scenery portrayed in the drama was very spectacular. But when I reached there, it seems very normal.. hmm don't get me wrong, it was quite nice. Maybe I had too high expectation, or maybe we went at the wrong season. We had fun taking pictures, though.

3.Funny to note that in all three hotels that we stayed in ( yes, we moved into different hotels everyday), none of it has proper vanity kit that we used to find in hotel room at home. Luckily I brought my shower gel, toothpaste, shampoo and etc. One of it did not even provide bath towels!! One funnier fact, ALL bathrooms DO NOT have lock at the doors! In contrast to the above, the hotel in Vietnam (where we transit for a night) provides jacuzzi in all their rooms. Heaven.

4.The country has a newly built bridge with length of 21.3 km; that is almost twice the length of Penang bridge. Guess how they officiate it? They had a two-ways-marathon across the bridge. Cool!

5.When we landed at the airport, the familiar ambience of KLIA instantly appeared. Suddenly I remembered reading somewhere that KLIA did have `sisters' – airports with similar state-of-the-art facilities e.g. conveyer belts, walkways, immigration counters..even same fonts at their signboards!

7.Their currency is triple more than ours… so shopping spree is not really the thing to look for here. Let alone kami yang berbudget RM400 seorang sahaja huhu.OK kami kedekut. Eh bukan kedekut cuma takmau membazir..:p

8.I found myself in an intellect (?) argument of the correct ways in menentukan kiblat. Before this, I never bother to learn the right way since I consider my Dad as an expert navigator.Plus mu hubby got a cool watch with compass. But only then I realized not everyone (we travel in a group,alright)have the same understanding of reading the compass and determining the right arah kiblat. Weird right? So people, please learn hard and practice applying it since it is so important.

Still, overall I found this try is just ordinary. No, the destination is not to be blamed. Just that my husband was not well on the first day and also myself for the rest of the days.. I can't even eat proper meals! No, no little extension just yet.. :P It was bad until I skipped shopping sprees (now I convinced you that my health was bad, didn't I?) and found myself slept on my hubby's lap, on a bench when we were at an amusement park, dreaded for the time to move faster so we could proceed to the next destination. Still, I slept most of the time along the way, as I found that was the easiest (temporary) solution to my health problem. So imagine how bad it was. And due to our work commitments, perhaps we won't be able to have similar trips again in the near future…

Nevertheless, it was still a good moment as long as it was away from office. I found the office work is too dry and bored these days.. help! I want to change my work immediately. This is usually happen to people who hate routine and get bored easily like me. I know I need to do something new, daring and challenging to spice up the life. Any suggestion, anyone?

Abah zaman sekarang

Last few weeks I teach my Abah on how to start blogging.

Dekat 45 minutes gak I bagi customer care service ( he called from his office to my office, on how to manage features in his blog).

Pastu the following week dia beli netbook dia sendiri (cewah) brand Dell tuh.

Lawa comel biru laut tapi i punyer si hitam tu tetap comel di hati(cis taknak kalah)

I gak jadi customer care line dia utk features netbook ape yg best and brand mouse ape best(sampai brand mouse pon dia tanya)

Tapi kawan2, netbook Dell dia tak bagi casing (sleeve) bersamanya padahal kalo brand lain ade je bagi sleeve skali.

So Abah beli netbook punya beg yang comel tak ingat. OK i jeles and rasa nak lobi suruh bagi I terus.  

Minggu lepas I ajar dia main Twitter plak.

I cakap senang nak follow kes anwar kat court and tau perkembangan PRK kat sibu.

And owh recently I just read his blog...hehee comell (bayangkan abah2 berbahasa skema dan menulis blog catatan harian.siyes cute)

Haha but I dont dare to encourage dia main facebook...

Tapi risau gak next week kalo balik rumah dia mintak I ajar bukak akaun fb pula.. aiya..

Tahajjud Cinta - a review

Tahajjud Cinta is the latest CD I bought recently.People who knew me close enough, would realised that this album must mean something deep. Because at only very few occurence that I bought a CD (or cassette in yesteryears), since usually I would not care much about songs and music. I just listened to whatever being played in the radio or if I love the songs I heard, I just find it in the net and replayed it. I remembered few months back, me and hubby always search for this album everytime we were in malls but failed to be found.We knew that it was released back in end of 2009. Kenapa ya? Does it only available at selected shops?

 

So what is so special with Tahajjud CInta?

If you need my one liner, I would say - the songs are very soothing.

 

So if you need something to unwind your emotions, or as a company in car during traffic jams, or just a plain daily listening - I guess this is a good alternative.It contained one of the nicest Asma' ul Husna recited ever, but my personal favourite is `Pintu RIndu' which is actually a famous marhabban melody being modified it lyric to give more meaning. Also, a few that are already familiar to our ears are `Tahajjud CInta' (soundtrack from the drama Alif Firdaus) and `Ku Percaya Ada Cinta'. Others are nice too. Kesimpulannya I suka!

 

But...if you already has the negative perception of not liking the singer for whatever reason, then I have no right to bash out your initial perceptions. Although Siti has not cover her aurat properly, or is too perfect(beautiful,wealthy with even wealthier husband,luck is always at her side but yet still tak-pakai-tudung-walau-kata-nak-pakai-pas-balik-haji) that made points of disgust to some others, but at least with this album she will have a fair share of pahala that maybe we did not have. Perhaps by listening to these songs will open the heart of someone to repent..even if it is only one person at the other side of the world.Who knows? I see this as an advantage by being a public figure that normal people are not given the opportunity to spread dakwah as they are.

 

As the conclusion, go get the CDs. Or at least search in youtube to get the feel of what I mean. But of course everyone has their own preference, and I have mine. Just pray that the songs will touch hearts of people to change for the better (especially the singer! ameen).

Fantasyland

Last weekend we went on a two-hour-date to MidValley.

Eh bukan tetiap minggu kita pergi date ke?

Sebenarnya ayat pertama di atas nak cakap masa kat MidValley, to be exact Harvey Norman ni we saw my favourite fantasyland... I even told him `nanti kita buat rumah camni ek'. Hahah layankan jelah dia ni kan (mungkin ini kata2 dia di dalam hati melihat I over excited, siap keluar kamera amik gambar)

Sebenarnya juga ayat kedua nak cakap kami gi date every week sebab..sebab..sebab...sebab kami tak pernah gi date sebelum kahwin. Haha nak cakap poyo pun boleh(atau, perlukan I gitau pembaca blog ini tapi takpe,setakat seploh kerat pembaca tegar takpe kot) tapi anda suka tak cerita Adamaya TV3 setiap petang weekdays la ni? Sweet kan bercinta pas kawin... kalau sapa cakap tak sweet I taktau laa nak cakap apa.Sebab kawan I si Oura suka sangat cerita ni.OK tu je, motifnya janganlah bercinta sebelum kawin lama sangat, sebab bercinta lepas kahwin lebih best.Selain mengelakkan tak best berdua-duaan dan risikonya yang tinggi, sesungguhnya lepas kahwin lebih sweet kalau anda baru nak kenal true colours pasangan anda.Sekian.

Betul, sesiapapun lebih cantik memakai tudung!

Ayat di atas telah lama saya ingin ungkapkan secara terbuka.Ingin ditujukan kepada sahabat,rakan-rakan,saudara mara,kaum keluarga,jiran tetangga mahupun strangers yang hanya dikenali dari facebook, blog dan alam maya. Sayang apabila melihat wanita berpakaian sopan,lemah lembut tingkah lakunya tetapi ada sedikit kekurangan dari segi menutup aurat..

Ye,pakai tudung tak susah.Malah sekarang dah jadi trend..kadangkala orang pakai tudung ke pejabat dan majlis-majlis keramaian sahaja sebab kiraanya mudah, pakai tudung ni lebih sopan dan ayu.Lebih lagi, tudung ni dapat padankan baju kurung dan kebaya dengan lebih cantik.Betul tak? Contohnya kebaya putih dan kain batik, kan lebih cantik tudung dipadankan dengan warna paling menyerlah pada kain batik tersebut? Tak perlu pereka fesyen, sesiapa saja pun akan setuju dengan saya.

Tapi kena berhati-hati juga,pakai tudung ni dah jadi fesyen.Macam-macam jenis ada… Cuma kita perlu memilih yang terbaik dan melengkapi syariah. Kalau jarang atau tidak menutup dada, masih ada kekurangan di situ… Maka sama-samalah kita baiki penampilan kita. Ramai juga yang menyatakan akan pakai tudung suatu hari nanti.. macam pernah dengar dari artis2 di tv kan? Betul, niat sudah murni tapi bagaimana kalau kita tak berjaya tiba ke suatu hari tersebut? Takutnya.

Sebenarnya falsafah yang saya rasa relevan mengenai pemakaian tudung yang sempurna ni, selain menjadikan wanita itu lebih cantik,ayu, high respected dan segala-gala yang positif (ada ke orang komen wanita bertudung ni negatif? Setakat ni tak pernah dengar lagi..), adalah berkait rapat dengan taqwa. Kita memakai tudung untuk menutup aurat, seperti yang disuruhnya, adalah sebab kita takutkan Allah. Takut dengan azabnya. Juga pada masa yang sama mensyukuri nikmah yang Allah bagi.Takkan apabila mengakui syukur dengan nikmatnya,pada masa yang sama kita mengingkari perintahNya? Memang tak logik kan.

Teringat pengalaman masa menghadiri training,di mana kita diminta menilai orang pada pandangan pertama (first impression).Rasanya lebih sekali saya mendengar komen (kalau bukan ditujukan kepada saya pun,kepada orang-orang lain),`Suka la tengok akak ni.Pakaian sopan,tudung cantik semua..suka sangat'.Sekali lagi, ada ke orang yang tak suka tengok wanita bertudung sempurna dan menutup aurat.Lelaki pun suka dan akan respect wanita begini.

OK tu je.Memang jarang saya menulis topik macam ni tapi kuat terasa nak menulis kali ini. Sebab hidayah Allah itu akan sampai ke hati-hati yang dipilihnya..mungkin secara bloghopping,browsing, facebooking, facebook hopping… we never know.Semoga hati-hati kita menjadi pilihan Hidayah-Nya insya Allah.

The Blind Side

I love it when FT wrote a review on The Blind Side in his blog. I was thinking of doing one myself but eventually forgotten since I watched it months ago. Initially the film was suggested by my hubby since it is a true story about an American Football star (OK did you get it? American Football and rugby kan macam adik beradik sikit. Satu boleh baling bola ke depan, satu boleh baling sisi je.Kalau salah tolong tunjukkan.huhu). But the main attraction for me is more towards the lead actress- Sandra Bullock. Well she is my favourite actress so far..I guess since Miss Congeniality.

Kalau nak detail boleh baca review FT. But for me, I love this film since it portrays the theme -`unconditional love'. It shows how a white-middle-class family adopted a black stranger from the street,in the middle of the night, back to their huge, cozy home. Apparently, the mother, Leigh Anne Touhy (Sandra Bullock) found that the big black stranger, Michael Oher/Big Mike is her children's schoolmate. And the journey of how seemingly hopeless, slow-academic-learner like Mike became a successful football player was amazing. Just because a few strangers( not even his own real family) have faith in him and found the best side of him-his high defensive ability. This rare ability is later exploited that turned Big Mike into one of the best football player so far.

Likewise, Leigh Anne too learnt a lot during Big Mike's presence in her house. Although her family seems perfect-wealthy, classy, even her children have good manners despite being spoilt in a rich family. Minor things being highlighted by Mike's body language such when he brought his plate silently and sit at the dining table while the rest of the family ate while watching their favourite tv program. It resulted for Leigh Anne to force her husband and children to dine together at the dining table instead J Sounds familiar? I believe this exact scenario happens in our own family, more often than not.

Conclusion- go watch this movie. Sadly it was not premiered in Malaysia, I don't know why. Eventually it makes me wonder, why our local movies always focused on commercial rather than humane aspects with positive messages underneath. Well, sci-fi and comedy movies can always have some humanely aspects, no?  I think we've got enough car and motor racing, hantu, samseng, call girls, cerita lovey-dovey jumpa awek masa tunggu bas or kat pasar,cinta dua darjat etcetera. It is time for real film that makes people stop and think, and appreciate life, love and human being even more.

P/S:I also believe this movie is more watched by others after Sandra Bullock got her best actress  Oscar award recently. No doubt one of the best movie I've watched so far (Kakak, please include this in your DVD list,thanks.haha)

This, is the first time I..

-had a really high fever (usually dalam 37degC je or less)
-had fever immediately after woke up in the morning without the usual symptoms (cough,sore throat,etc)
-had immediate two days MC from a clinic known as kedekut MC
-had sick leave two weeks in a row (last week ada MC gak)
-suspected dengue but confirmed negative after a blood test
-had a blood test just because of fever(!)

while just last year I boasted off my almost no MC record (okeh,I MC sehari je tahun lepas).Sebab tu orang tua kata jangan berlagak, kan dah kena..huhu -_-

some people might say alah fever je pon, apalah big deal sangat.Tapi I really hate going to doctors.. I hate taking medicine and injections. My husband pun dah tau habit I setiap kali jumpe doktor (rahsia haha).. so this is quite something for me.Nak-nak with the second outbreak of H1N1 now adays. So ladies and gents, please take good care of yourself.

My weekend and his

My weekend was filled with the above.Oh no the picture don't do justice, I was actually away for a camping trip.But the jeram was superb!Guess where?Hint:only half and hour from KL

While his weekend was incomparable.While I was worried he would be bored to death (kononnye without me kan), his weekend was full with meeting-wedding-rugby-balik kampung(ciss sempat !both places pulak tu)-futsal-bowling..pergh.At least I'm glad he was having equal fun.

On-screen vs hardcopy?

Have you ever wonder, why some people just favour real paper books instead of e-books?

Among these people are yours truly. I can't stand e-books or lengthy wordy documents on-screen. I printed all notes during my study days and even have to take occasion breaks from looking at the monitor in my daily work (sebab tu I suka kerja luar every now and then, I can't stand the monitor lights!)

Also, ever wonder why when we typed an important document, it looked flawless and perfect. But when we printed it out and submitted to the boss, she sent it back a moment later with red correction lines and made us gape in disbelief - Why didn't I notice this typo errors during my hundred times of re-checking??

I just found the answers during my writing skills training last week.

My trainer told me; when we glare at the monitor, the light emitted goes straight to our eyes. This is called backlit image. When we read a hardcopy, the nearest lamp reflected its light to the hardcopy and then to our eyes. It is called reflected image. Generally our brain unable to focus details of backlit images compared to reflected images, hence we just realize the errors after a hardcopy proofread. At least the DailyWriting Tips agreed that hardcopy is more steadfast when it comes to proofreading and editing. Of course some lucky people might be able to write remarkable error-free piece of documents on-screen, so consider your ability as a blessing and be grateful about it J

Generally, it is still ok (for those who can bear) to use backlit image for reading or drafting purpose, but please don't proofread/edit important documents on-screen as you can't afford to spot every single mistakes. Unless if it is just a five liners or informal email (well, we have to help save a tree, don't we?) Please be extra cautious because sometimes simple mistakes may lead to misinterpretation or even worse, potential embarrassment. Some may also cost our future and fortune! ( I've known some real life examples, seriously).

So Ci especially, you are recommended to proofread your final thesis using hardcopy ye J

My series of unfortunate events occurred last week. Not too many events though but enough to make me took EL on Friday. OK actually only two major events but I intentionally put some spices so it sounded terrible. Oh sangat jujurkan. But those were bad though.

Well, the first was when my car failed to start after I finished my training in Bangi. I usually had my Asar prayer before I went home, so the parking area was quite deserted with only few people passed by. Hence I walked to the guardhouse and asked them for a mechanic's number(actually I would welcome their help tapi cover line la gak). But what I did not expect was their reluctance to help. At first, they suggested for me to walk alone to the junction, said that a workshop is just around the corner. Since I was sad and panicking, I don't dare to walk alone and insisted for the workshop's phone number instead. I can't believe they don't have a number, as they were guards in a training centre where similar events could and would occur every now and then. Amidst their reluctancy, one of them agreed to see my car's condition. Or maybe they felt guilty for the small tears welled in my eyes (sikit je ok. Biasalah panik). Pakcik tersebut shot a glance at my engine and said, `oh takboleh start ye. Nanti saya carikan jumper'.

And I waited for few minutes and he didn't return. At the same time, my dear husband's friend's friend (ye husband I tolong carikan talian hayat bila dengar wife dia bunyi cam nak nangis dah over the phone sebab kereta takleh start.Anyway tak nangis pon ok.Ego still kena maintain.Haha) came over with jumper wires. At the back of my head,  I was so sure that the cause was not the battery.I just changed it a few months ago, so it is considered brand-new right? So before they started energizing my battery, I asked them to inspect the wiring first. And boy I was right (but not brave enough to look myself, typical woman), the wire did not touch the battery cap. So the kind hearted guys helped to tighten it up and asked me to pour hot water later to ensure the elements keep in contact. I happily thanked them and hopped off to fetch my husband in the office. The best/worst part is, the guard never return. Sabar je lah. Sila blacklist pakcik guard tersebut ok.

Kesimpulan part one:

1)My husband bought me jumper wires to be kept in my car. He insisted it will be very important whenever I face similar situation in the future. But I still think the most important thing to have instead of jumper wires are AAM toll free or a mechanic's number. Haha.Lady drivers semua mesti sependapat dengan I.Kan?

2)Bukan semua pakcik guard adalah helpful sanggup menolong wanita yang dalam kesusahan.

OK habis part one.

My second unfortunate event started the very next day. Both husband and I went back early from office, happily (sebab jalan tak jem, cuti sekolah). I even planned to cook a simple dinner that night. When we approached the lift to our house, the security guard (eh apa asik citer pasal pakgad ni?aish dejavu plak) told us the TNB guys had pulled out our meters.What?? I almost shout to the guard in anger (spontaneously, I got a short temper anyway) but suddenly realized it was not his fault. And I noticed hubby was extremely calm hence I gained back my self control and tak jadi marah.Padahal pak gad tu baik nak inform apasal aku marah dia plak.

When we reached home, of course all electrical appliances were not functioning. We called TNB aduan line and got false promise to return our call after a short while (Mengapakah perkara ini selalu terjadi?Baik takyah jadi operator Aduan line). Only the second call answered our messy encounter. The previous owner closed his account without informing us. This time I almost sure my husband will turn into Incredible Hulk out of anger (Saye pon kena marah sekali..uu sedey) because all this won't happen if the previous owner make JUST one phone call to inform us. But when Allah says it will happen, it still will. Alhamdulillah we were still very conscious of that.

To make things worse, we misplaced the SnP and husband was convinced it was left at his parents' house. So off we went, in the middle of the night balik Seremban. But the SnP was nowhere to be found. So the next day (after informed our bosses of our EL), we called our lawyer and obtained the amended SnP from her. Then, rushed back to KL to open our account before everyone leave for Friday prayer. Siap kena merayu-rayu pakcik meter to install our meter on the day since it was Friday and they don't work on weekends. Finally, our meter was installed the same day. Terima kasih kepada pakcik meter dan kuncu-kuncunya, you guys made a great effort to light up our house,literally! (eh jangan memain, one of our contingency plan is to sleep in the nearby hotel, tapi masalahnya hotel semua penuh di akhir cuti sekolah.Bagus gak,kalau tak kopak juga)

Kesimpulan part two:

1)      Please communicate; you won't know the impact of communication breakdown to other people until you experience it yourself. Sometimes the solution is just a phone call away.

2)      Never delay to change your electric account whenever you bought a house from someone.

But at least, my weekends were filled with joy of the others. I attended three weddings, and a rugby match. Haha congrats to all the newly weds. Only some minor glitch, I forgot to bring extra clothes so I was the awkward lady in white silk baju kurung di tepi padang tengok orang main rugby after attending my schoolmate's wedding. Haih sabar je lah..I don't mind the stares but baju kurung just restricted me to sit on the grass and enjoy the game wholeheartedly. Itu je.

Dream job

I know everyone has their dream job(s) that lingers in mind every now and then.Ironically, they are not often the job that you are having right now.

Right??

OR adakah most of you had your dream job and enjoying every moment of it?Then good for you.If you don't have it (where I believe most of us don't) then be grafetul too because at least we have a job.Or maybe who knows that the job is the best for you?

 

Well in my dreams, day and night, consciously or not, I do dream on several jobs that I wanted to do, e.g cikgu tadika (ni nak usahasama ngan kakak bijou la kononnya tapi takut dia busy gi offshore la pulak kan), dietitian, child specialist, cikgu bahasa, travel agent, enterpreneur and the list goes on. When I was a child I even think of becoming a penjaga zoo as it is such a noble work to do. Looking back at the list, they all are related with my interests: health,children,language,traveling,small business...siapa tak suka buat kerja yang kita suka kan.Even tak payah bayar gaji pun takpe kan?

 

But I never wanted to become the profession of which I qualified for.

Well, it might be exciting and high profile but, the heart is just not into it.

As simple as that.

 

Alah ramai je tak keje according to their qualification but more towards their passion.And they are happy. Even as a housewife. I mean, why not? Kan? As long as they are happy.

 

The thing is I don't really fancy people belittle others' profession or make double standard comments, e.g (ni example je tau), 'wah kerja ni lagi bagus dari kerja tu, wey kenapa berenti kerja, kan dah bagus kerja tu..' `jadi housewife ni lagi penat dari kerja pejabat tau..kau mane tau' and everything in between. You never know until you are in the person's shoes, so avoid judging without understanding in the first place.

 

OK tu je. I a not quite sure whether I intend this post mainly for myself or for others.Maybe both..

 

Haha.Rambles la ni maksudnya.Tiada kaitan antara hidup atau mati.

I wish I could have this trip again to clear the hassle of life and find the peace of mind.

Seriously, its not the place that we like most, but it is the villa!

Cliche question

Just realize I have not upload even a single photo of my own wedding in my own blog,so here is one...and please expect more to come.haha.

Its been a while but still I received the cliche question, of `how was married life?'

Usually I replied with even a cliche answer `Cam biasala..haha'(grinning ears to ears). Cause the best answer you would ever obtain is when you experience it yourself..ahaha.Cam bagus je jawapan kan.But its true..:P

Just now was another one of many occasions that makes me smile,the occasion that only occured when you have a husband living with you, of course.

When we just finished our prayers,he looked at me, smiled and touched my telekung.

I gave him a puzzled look, thus he said`nak retain air sembahyang..' (he was about to go for some religious programme shortly)

I replied, `okay' and I alas my hand with my telekung and salam as usual, pastu terus kedua-dua kami terkejut.

Sebab eventually I salam cium tangan cam biase, maka batal gak air sembahyang kan...haha so much on nak retain air sembahyang la kononnya kan..:P Sorry dear, tak sengaja :P Tapi fikir balik I gelak sorang-sorang sebab beriya alas tangan tapi cium tangan my husband. Ntah pape tah.

Healthy food, tasty food

Only now I realize that I kind of enjoy cooking.The reason I am sure of it is when I cook for my dinner nowadays eventhough I am alone (my hubby is still outstation,by the way). Apart of to prepare myself to become a good wife a.k.a a good cook,ehem,it is also due to two conditions which hindered me from cooking often during my singledom are now fulfilled:

1) I have my own house,own kitchen with complete groceries and being stocked by myself

2) Enough time to cook as I get home early, thanks to my new home which is 15 minutes away from my office. Wait, I can get to office in less than 5 minutes time minus the slight traffic jam and traffic lights.How cool is that??

And my obsession to healthy food is getting stronger. I tried to cook less oily food and tried to have veggie dish in every meal.Before this I use to skip veggies,and don't mind being carnivor all this while. Also I stick to corn oil instead of palm oil in my cooking, and vow to finish 2L of it in three months time or more.Haha how possible does that sounds? Fried chicken,any deep fried dishes or gulai with santan is a total no-no.Oklah, can but just once in a while, kesian pulak my husband:P

For breakfast, I always against roti canai, nasi lemak and teh tarik.Anlene milk every morning without fail or hot chocolate, at least.Tea and coffee are to be avoided whenever possible.I've also got used to American breakfast(minus the baked beans,I hate them), always sunny side up or scramble rather than fried egg,although the first time I tried, I can't consume the yolk(oh saya tak suka telur goyang,telur separuh masak dan sebagainya) hence I fry it again in the pan.Haha mengelatkan.Bread is now staple food instead of rice, but must be in right quantity of course.

The secret of enjoying healthy food is actually to make it taste good.Therefore I am a big fan of afc and all food channel that shows how healthy and yet tasty food can be made in your own kitchen.My first experiment is the grilled chicken, this time Oura had the chance to taste it. She made commendable remarks. Haha bagus2.Saya akan berusaha sedaya upaya memasak masakan sihat tapi lazat.Ahaha semangat kan.Besides, bread tastes so much better with garlic or butter spread and chapatti made a good substitute of rice, everytime.Also never leave your salads behind, kalau muak salad sayur ganti dengan salad buah.And don't be afraid to try `western' veggies like broccoli and asparagus..they taste so good,seriously.

.....but everything mentioned above is automatically overruled whenever we got back to the parents' home.Moms are the best cook ever, so kalau diorg masak kita tak makan membazir je la kan.Haha boleh pakai kot alasan tu..:P

The reason I write this is actually to stress out the importance of good food for our well being, inside out. The best food is of couse from your own cooking, although there is no harm to dine out once in a while.But do choose your food wisely as it will become our blood and veins and actually affected our attitude and personality.

And I just found verses in AL Quran that emphasize on good and halal food:

Firman-Nya:” Wahai para rasul, Makanlah makanan yang baik-baik (halal) dan kerjakanlah amal soleh. Sesungguhnya Aku Maha Mengetahui apa yang kamu kerjakan.” (al-Mukminun:51)
“Wahai orang-orang yang beriman! Makanlah rezeki yang baik-baik yang telah kami rezekikan kepadamu...”(al-Baqarah:172)


With that, let's embrace healthy lifestyle, people :)

Pink tulips

I'm impressed when you paid attention to details.Like when you know exactly the form of my favourite thing to receive on my birthday.I always appreciate flowers.Fresh flowers,in particular.and u manage to look for pink tulips! I know tulips are uncommon in florist's.But u managed to find it for me. And its pink. Complete with ivory leaves and the cherry-like plants that compliment the bouquet.I never seen more beautiful bouquet than those.

Honestly,if you asked me know, I have no idea what to get for u if ever your birthday is drawing near. Something canterbury,perhaps?But I suppose you owned almost half of the merchandise so I don't want to risk getting you something you've owned.Then,what?..hmm..see? I guess I am no match for you in remembering details.I promised will try harder.

I turned 25 today.

Assalamualaikum and hye all.

It's been a while since this blog in hiatus.

Alot of changes in life..ever since my marriage I haven't update anything in this blog kan? Haha yelah 4 weeks marriage leave +annual leave, means 1st week:my reception, 2nd week:hubby's reception, 3rd week:vacation, 4th week:move into new house...then masuk je keje terus event 3 hari and kerja melambak sampai sekarang.

And now it is 15 Jan, again.First birthday as wife, I turned 25.. however my husband is not by my side.I don't blame him, I share my husband with an oversea's operation anyway.Yang penting balik kena bawak hadiah yg super best tau! :P

Well, even on 15 eve I've got the first present from Oura-dia blanje dinner..haha sweet kan.And few birthday wishes in fb, sms and phone calls..Thanks everyone. Hope the day will go well despite my full day meeting scheduled in hand.

Thank you Allah for giving me a blissful life, surrounded by wonderful people and still being given the nikmat of Islam and iman even after 25 years of living my life.

Pre-wed memoir#5 - Conversation with Abah

Masa tengah makan malam (Ma tak makan sekali, dia diet kononnya)

 

Me: Abah, nanti abah yang nikahkan adik kan? (I am the adik,although not the youngest.Typical second child lah kan)

Abah: Haah

Me: Abah dah praktis ke?

Abah: (Berenti makan) hahahaa.. takyah praktis de. Senang je.

Me: Abah sure? Nanti kang lost of word kang. Ada kawan adik tok kadi yg nikahkan sebab ayah dia nervous.

Abah: Ala sebaris je kan..boleh punye.Bukannye abah pengantin pun

Me: Yelah atleast tengok laa skrip tu dulu..tak tengok langsung kang culture shock plak

Abah: Abah yakin, no worries

Me: Tapi takpelah boleh tengok teks kan.

Abah: Ye betul.Takyah teks pun takpe, senang je. Jangan risau..takde hal punya.

Me: Ok fine.

 

The one and only Abah I know, is the one who seldom showed emotions.Maybe he thinks showing emotion is not his cups of tea(atau maybe tak macho showing emotions?I just don't get guys).Once when I cried for whatever reason yg dah lupa, he just being plain ignorance (but I knew he actually cares too much) and later bombarded questions to my Mom on my well being.Does your Dad do that too?

 

I am just being a typical myself, minimizing the risk and considering all possibilities.

 

So kita tengok laa time akad nanti..

Or even if it doesn't show, it will resurface later.. at the right place and the right time.

P/S: This is not a hatred post.I am just deep in thought and wondering the what ifs, while studying the people and their behaviours. Human is interesting creature, indeed.

This is a note I wrote in my fb page this morning.

Lately ramai orang tanye pasal ape wedding gift yg i nak.Based on several conversation previously, me and my friends agreed that despite adab org melayu yang pemalu dan tak meminta2, bakal2 pengantin kalau boleh specify kan apa yg dihajati supaye tak dapat hadiah yang same berdozen2 last2 semak kat stor atau bungkus balik bagi kat kawan lain (eh ni org cakap la, tak tau betul ke tak.huhu tapi agak kurang bermoral:P)Jadi setelah ditimbang2 tara I will list down beberapa items yang i `tak perlu' (sebab dah ade/mmg tak perlu, tapi sekiranya I still dapat I masih menerima dengan senang hati):

Wedding gift yang I TAK PERLU:
1. Steam Iron
2. Set pinggan mangkuk (tapi kalau nak bagi Corelle I nakkkk! hahaa)
3. Rice cooker
4. Peti ais (macam lah ade org nk bagi kan.haha)

7. Kettle plastik (kalo Tefal nak! i prefer metal electric kettle though)

11.Kuali (kalo maxim n tefal ok kot..the non stick range)

Hmm basically tu je kot.Kiranya I still need most of home appliances as I am not buying anything for the new home yet..saje pas kawin baru nak cari.Nevertheless, your presence is the most important thing for my wedding :) love lots and see you ;)

Dear, transition period (my department was just been reorg) not necessary means I am inaudated with overflowing work.On the contrary, I am quite relax and even have time to count the days.Although I don't need a wedding ticker as a few of my friends will be ending their singledom on the same day as mine.So I just refer to theirs.Boleh? Haha

Sedang asyik menaip tetiba my boss came back to office, rushing and assigning me urgent work. And kept me occupied with meeting until Maghrib.
